Survived & Thrived Stories: A Minisode Series
Since the LAT podcast launched in August of 2020, people from all over the world have reached out to me to share parts of their trauma history along with why this podcast resonates so deeply with them. Through these conversations as well as my own recovery journey from CPTSD, I have realized how much healing comes with knowing that others are hearing your story and are resonating with it.
In fact, when I first began opening up about my own history of trauma, the very first way I was able to share what happened to me was via writing. I wrote in anonymously to my favorite podcast, My Favorite Murder, by the amazing Georgia Hardstark and Karen Kilgariff (if you love true crime and haven’t listened to their podcast yet, hop to it!).
Thus came the idea to add a mini-episode series to the podcast called Survived & Thrived Stories. The goal of this series is to create a space for you and survivors everywhere to open up and begin sharing the trauma, the obstacles, and the victories that have molded you into the person you are today.
You can share as much or as little of your story as you want. Tell us about your struggles, the battles you’ve won, the battles you’re still fighting, and how you manage to keep on surviving in spite of it all. Your story will be read aloud on the podcast with all identifiable details left out. And of course, after reading your story, I will give feedback, encouragement and support in whatever way I can.
As trauma survivors, it is vital to be able to connect and speak with other survivors. Sharing your story is a great way to get your voice heard and inspire others who are in dark places to know that they are not alone.
You can submit your story here or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. I look forward to hearing from you!
